In partnership with Santa Barbara Outfitters, prAna has opened up their second national store at 1200 State Street. The Grand Opening was last night, Monday, October 25, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. prAna’s enthusiastic customer base ranges from yoga and climbing enthusiasts to active, healthy individuals who are environmentally conscious. Long known for versatile with a focus on sustainable materials, prAna can now be found in over 42 countries.The prAna at Santa Barbara Outfitters Grand Opening featured a fashion show including one of Paddle Sports owners, Garrett Kababik, local luminaries from the community, bouldering wall, locally sourced food, wine and beer, live music, jewelry by Maile, a raffle to benefit a local non-profit, and a partner acro-yoga performance.Santa Barbara Outfitters owners Mark & Luisa Hyatt are the previous owners of Paddle Sports of Santa Barbara. Paddle Sports of SB donated free kayak & SUP rentals with all proceeds going to support Medicines Global. Medicines Global is dedicated to inspire all adventure travelers to Give Back to the places they visit by delivering basic first aid supplies to medical centers and remote community run health posts.This event, the people that showed up, and our mutual business missions – to be a part of an active lifestyle, to protect the environment, and give back, has all grown in support last night.Paddle Sport and Medicines Global are helping out with the initiative from Washington to get disenfranchised youth out of the cities and into the Nations parks and wilderness areas. This is the first event of its kind. We will be taking 20 young girls (13-15 yrs old) from inner city LA along with key players in the LAPD and City of Santa Barbara.
