CIO custom outings utilize all of the amazing resources that make up our packaged programs, but give you the flexibility to go where you want and do what you want once there.

Black Canyon on the Colorado River is an amazing place to rejuvenate and relax. Hot Springs are abundant and the flow of the river is a reminder that the best practice in life is to just, "go with the flow"! This group of high schoolers explored the river with enthusiasm and even participated in a traditional Lakota sweat lodge ceremony held by Andrew Soliz. |

Channel Islands National Park- Custom Outings We are licensed by the National Park Service to offer guided hiking and kayaking throughout the entire Park. When putting together a special trip for large groups we always suggest chartering a live-aboard vessel. Having vessel assistance during your trip allows the guides to make special recommendations for adventures based on the current conditions (which are always changing!). Los Padres National Forest- Custom Outings Some of the most amazing wilderness areas are only a short distance from Santa Barbara. At CIO we tailor and guide these adventures to fit a range of age/skill levels. CIO provides all the gear necessary for backpacking adventures, all you need to bring is your underwear and toiletries (full packing list provided at sign-up). Areas we outfit and guide in:

Cachuma Lake Recreation Area- Custom Outings A canoe is such a wonderful means of transportation! Take your cooler, stove, comfy sleeping pad, and even the guitar with you! CIO is in the process of acquiring a long-term concession at Cachuma Lake which will offer back country wilderness camping on Arrowhead Island and two other North Lake sites, possibly in Santa Cruz Bay and Cachuma Bay. CIO currently offers fishing and camping adventures based out of the Mohawk Area and is hoping to offer overnight canoe camping programs to Arrowhead Island by Summer 2012. Black Canyon, Arizona- Custom Outings Paddle down the beautiful and calm waters of the Lower Colorado River and visit the hot springs at Arizona Camp, Boy Scout Canyon and more. A trip down this special canyon offers a bounty of benefits to all who visit. CIO outfits these adventures with all the gear you need for a 2-5 day canoeing program for groups up to 40 people. Our skilled back country cooks whip up all sorts of delicious meals in dutch ovens and on the camp fire.
